NYC FOOD: JACK'S WIFE FREDA!

Greetings!

This time, I am bringing you all a different post. It is a restaurant review..kind of! If you know me, you know I love food and my dream is that I can eat whatever I want and never gain any weight(a girl can dream right?). New York City has many amazing restaurants and after hearing so much about this place, I had to stop by and see what all the hype was about.

Jack's Wife Freda has two locations in the city. One is in Soho and the other one is in West Village which is where I went. First of all, they don't take reservations unless you have a party of six or more which kind of sucks because this place is always packed. Luckily, our wait was less than 15 minutes(we got lucky!) plus if you go with a smaller group, you are more likely to get seated faster. The inside is quite cute, decked out with art and it has a very modern look to it. It is pretty small like most NYC restaurants but still comfortable.
The menu is awesome because it has a mix of things everyone would like. From healthy to meatier to breakfast options, it has the variety. They have a selection of wines, beer, and cocktails for a refreshing pick me up too which is a necessity during brunch. I decided to try their Pimm's cup which was super refreshing for the hot summer weather. For the meal, the server recommended the Maya's Grain Bowl and their Chicken Kebab dish which was healthy and delicious! The grain bowl is packed with healthy things like red quinoa, kale, peas, carrots, asparagus and more! The kebab is more flavorful with a spicy homemade hot sauce. It is marinated with Peri-Peri sauce with couscous and chopped salad on the side which hit the spot. For dessert, we ordered their mouth watering Malva pudding which is similar to bread pudding. Of course, didn't leave with ordering a cappuccino.
Overall, I enjoyed my lunch at Jack's Wife Freda and I love the "Mediterranean spin" they have. It is well priced for what it is too. That being said, if I had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table, I probably wouldn't pick this place again. The food is health-conscious and really good, but in my honest opinion, it isn't worth waiting hours for. Still, a good spot to check it out if you are around the area!

Until next time..
