Greetings!
I haven't usually ever had a big issue with acne, but during that time of the month, stress breakouts and pimples are very common for any skin type and these two products have really helped with diminishing those horrible painful spots!
I change my skincare routine up a lot and use a lot of different products to see what would work best which is why it's essential to find the best routine for yourself. I still cleanse and moisturize my face like I would normally and then I go in with a toner/facial tonic.
GÖTZ Bad Ischl Oxygen Facial Tonic is a lightweight calming toner that has become an important part of my routine. It helps to soothe my redness due to the big breakouts. It has natural ingredients that don't clog the pores or irritate the skin. I cannot say that my large pimples are immediately gone, but this with conjunction to the next product I mention, will really diminish those big clusters and large pimples. Breakouts caused through hormones will take a while to go away but still can be diminished slowly, which is what these products help with. I like to apply this with a cotton pad all over my face and also on the spots. This way, the product really soaks into the skin and helps kill the bacteria. What I usually don't like about toners is that they tend to make my skin seem stiff and dry, but this toner is the complete opposite, it's very moisturizing. It has a clean "medicinal plant type of scent" which I like, especially at night. If you are not used to the smell of plants then you may not like it too much. It's very similar to tree tea oil scent which I like. This also helps produce less oil on the face which is great as oils can clog pores and eventually cause more breakouts. I do not have oily skin so I wouldn't know if this work better for oily skinned people, but for my dry skin, it has been great. If you're looking for a good tonic/toner, I highly recommend this one!
This product is holy grail status for me. Dermologica Clear Start Treatment is another product that has changed my skincare routine! Every night after cleansing my face, I use a thin layer of this over my breakout areas and the results in the morning are amazing. It is a spot treatment and moisturizer in one for me. With this, my breakouts have gone down, it has soothed all the redness and my overall skin looks refreshed. My congested skin looks clearer which I really need. This product has salicylic acid which is common in acne-fighting products but can be drying, but this isn't drying at all. It is clear once you apply it to the skin and absorbs quickly. Other salicylic acid based products always dry my skin the next day and everything looks patchy and gross, but this product never does that. It also has calming ingredients like cucumber and soothing licorice that are known to help lull redness away. It also contains tea tree, orange, lavender and camellia which keeps overactive oils away.
I really recommend these products if you are going through acne, hormonal breakouts, and congestion with the skin. They really help clear everything up and even though I know, hormonal acne will happen and there isn't anything that we can do about it, these will help diminish them way quicker!
What are your favorite products that help battle acne?
