CHURROS IN THE CITY

Hello my lovelies!

I am back with a quick post about my day! After a long day of classes, my friend I ended up going to a churro factory/bakery. Chicago is filled with so many amazing bakeries, but I had never heard of one that only had churros, so I was pretty excited (plus I have a sweet tooth)!

Xocoatl was established in 1996. In 2009, Xocoatl opened their first establishment in the neighborhood of Pilsen. They have other locations around the city now, but I went to their Pilsen location. As you walk in you can smell the fresh churros and the spicy cinnamon. We ordered all the flavors of each, which included chocolate, cream cheese, vanilla and strawberry (go big or go home!)
They have a special every day and because I went on a Thursday, their special was guava, which I wasn’t too keen on trying (but if you love Nutella, go on a Tuesday, darn why was it a Thursday). I also ordered a cup of cappuccino to go with my churros. Yummy and the perfect combination!! The place is small, but it was great seeing someone make and serve fresh churros right there in front of you.

Now about the churros…Holy moly! These are the best churros I have ever had in my life. They are fresh, fluffy, soft on the inside and perfectly crispy. They have the perfect amount of sugar and cinnamon too and not overly sweet, which is a plus. This place is such a hidden treasure in Pilsen and I highly recommend it if you like discovering small hole in the wall bakeries and enjoy churros! I can’t wait to go there again!

I later decided to finish my coffee at a nearby park and decided to show you all my OOFTD (Outfit of the day), which was super casual and simple.

Striped Top: Zara
Quilted Jacket: Brooks Brothers(similar)

  2. These look so good! I've never tried churros, there needs to be somewhere in the north of the UK where I can get some.
