MR. AND MRS. CHANEL

Greetings my lovely people!

I am back with a beauty post! I am a foundation junkie. I just want to keep trying new ones even though I am happy with the ones I use at the moment. But after all the trying, buying and using, my favorite two are these babies!
I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Chanel(just kidding, but don’t they look like a boy and girl?)

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua: This has been one of my most used and trusted foundations for over a year now. I know, I know its one of the most talked about cult product of many beauty bloggers, but the hype is real my lovelies. This is just magic in a bottle. It makes my tired and dehydrated skin turn into refreshed, dewy and absolutely gorgeous skin. It is non cakey, and smooth’s onto the skin perfectly. It is delicate and light and the coverage is quite buildable. It provides low to medium coverage, which is what I prefer. It is very important to shake the foundation a few times before using it, otherwise it comes out really watery. I also recommend applying this with your fingers instead of a brush or sponge because you tend to loose a lot of the product if used with anything else. I use the color B30 which is perfect.

Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet: First off, the packaging is so chic. If I had a foundation that I created, it would look exactly like this. I wasn’t sure about the results of this product when it launched. I heard tons of reviews about it when I was traveling and decided to picked it up at duty free in Dubai. This foundation is almost like the Vitalumière Aqua but less dewy and more matte. You still get that fresh glowly look but it wont slip and slide at all. I think it also lasts better than the Vitalumière Aqua. As you apply this, it turns velvety(like the name suggests) and super silky. It makes your skin feel soft which makes me like it even more. The coverage is quite similar to the VA, which is low to medium coverage. If you have oily skin and you prefer something more matte, then this is perfect for you. I enjoy dewy as well as  matte, depending on  what my skin looks like because it changes from dry to combination quite often. This one isn’t cakey either, but the best way to apply this is with your fingers, just like the VA. The color shades are different in this. I was matched a B20, whereas in VA I am B30. I think the color suits me well. It also has SPF just like the VA which is a plus!

I like both of these foundations and have the “no makeup, makeup” thing down perfectly! I think these work great all year round and suit various  skin types. They aren’t the cheapest foundations but if you are a foundation junkie like me and believe that bases are the most important of all your makeup products, then these are absolutely worth every penny!

Hope you enjoyed! ☺

  1. These totally do look like boy and girl! I used to love Chanel Vitalumiere aqua a few years ago it was all I would buy and I have no idea why I stopped!! I think I will pick up the velvet one next month for a bit of change and I like the matte look in Autumn :)

    Great post! xo

  3. I really want to try some Chanel foundation! I have heard quite a lot of people talk about the Perfection Lumiere foundation and since I have slightly oily skin, I think that one would suit me more than the Vitalumiere Aqua foundation :)

  4. Love the title! ;) These two are both so good, I think I prefer the Perfection Lumiere Velvet and I find that the shades run a tiny bit darker too! ;) xx
