A PHO-NOMENAL DAY!

Greetings lovely people!

It is getting a little chilly in Chicago as autumn hits the city, so there is nothing better than some hot and delicious Pho.
What is Pho? According to Wikipedia, Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth, linguine-shaped rice noodles called bánh phở, a few herbs, and meat. Pho is actually a popular street food in Vietnam. We ended up going to Urban Belly which is a small restaurant in the West Loop of Chicago. The weather was beautiful, so we decided to sit outside and bask in the sun, which is probably not here to stay for long (typical Chicago).

We started with some Wagyu beef dumplings, which are crispy wontons with cheddar, romaine, tomato and horseradish. They were absolutely mouth melting and extremely crispy.

Now, on to the pho! I chose the Mushroom Pho. Filled with mushrooms, tofu, bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeno’s and rice noodles, this is a perfect steamy bowl of goodness. I also added chicken in there for some meaty flavor. This stuff is seriously addicting. Every slurp and every bite is filled with unique flavors and the added spicyness will make you want more. I also ordered a Kirin Ichiban Japanese beer that went perfect with the food.

Now, I will warn you all, after this meal, you will want to cuddle up and take a long cat nap. The weather being so beautiful, visiting a park sounded perfect. I had read a lot about the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool in Lincoln Park, which is a Chicago Landmark as of 2002.

I love parks and areas filled with nature. I have to say, this is probably one of my favorite places in Chicago. It is beautiful! The park is not too big but it's probably one of the most peaceful and calm places, which is quite hard to find when you live in a big city.
It is a must see if you're in the Lincoln Park area or visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo.
I highly recommend these two places especially during this time of the year!
